Arab Parliament Affirms Support for Stronger Arab-China Development Partnership

The Arab Parliament has officially said again that it is committed to making the relationship between countries and China even stronger both in terms of strategy and economy. It pointed out the success of the Global Development Initiative, which was started by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

It has been five years since the Global Development Initiative was first introduced. The president of the Arab Parliament Mohammed Al-Yammahi said the initiative is very important for the world. He said it helps to solve economic and social problems encourages development that lasts a long time and supports the goals of many countries, in the Global South. He emphasized that placing development at the center of the international agenda remains essential for achieving long-term regional stability and economic resilience.

The parliamentary body expressed its full support for turning shared Sustainable Development Goals into actionable projects on the ground. Key areas targeted for expanded bilateral cooperation include technology, scientific research, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and economic investment, alongside enhanced trade and cultural exchanges.

The declaration comes as Arab states and China prepare for the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations. Both sides continue to align strategic development plans under the Belt and Road Initiative to foster mutual growth and modern industrial infrastructure across the Middle East and North Africa.

Highlighting the historic ties binding the Arab world and Beijing, the Arab Parliament reiterated its desire to maintain close multilateral coordination to advance joint economic mechanisms and secure shared interests.
